This term were making advertising videos for the school.
We go to Arrowtown school.
We are using the gold system here at goldminds this term this process includes the following stages

Look deeper: We looked at the footage and some was wonky so we reshooted it.

We started editing after 2 weeks holiday. We added some music in the movie and edited some more on the movie.
21.10.10
One of the teachers has a macbook so we are going to dump the windows and make the movie on the mac. So we are taking 1 step back to go 2 steps forward.
Deliver:
We have been watching ads and movie trailers and identifying the rule of thirds.
For example Charlie St.Cloud:

The screen os split into columns of three like the chart above. Each corner of the rectangle in the centre are the main focus points wheneve there is an ad the people or whatever character is on the ad their head should be on one of the corners or the thing that they are selling.
How to make your own thirds for a computer screen.
Step 1
Get a see through plastic sheet and rule up into three rectangles. On the centre rectangle on each corner draw a cross or a circle.
Step 2
Place the the plastic sheet on the screen of the laptop or computer.
Step 3
Got onto youtube or another video site and select a movie trailer or an ad.
Step 4
Put the video on full screen and watch.
Step 5
Look carefully at the video and when someone goes nto the screen you should see that the character most of the time their head should be in the area. Step 2 organise the story board and scenes.

After talking to Mr Harris we found these things tht werent perfect with our video.
The still photos were to slow
We were missing the tech and room 17 titles
The back ground of the video was uninviting
We hadent zoomed in told anyone what the kids were doing
That we had 2 archery photos insted of 1
That we didn't have anyone popping up and saying Arrowtown school ect ectThe film
We had a pic of one teacher but not the others
We had to much tech footage
Slow down footage in room 17 because it makes you dizzy
The intervews might have come out better ifthe people had been sitting down
We'll take this info on to improve our video.
Monday 20th September
Today was the first day of our project. We organised ourselves into groups then we started jotting down ideas for our video.
Step 1: To interview Mr.Harris and see what he wanted to see on the video. He said:
Lots of kids
No silly behavior on film.
Only a little bit of narration/ most talking when person is on screen.

Tuesday 21st September
Today we finished our storyboard and got to play with the flip cams we are using. We tryed zooming, moving fast and moving slow, sound wise/ how well you can hear someone when they are far away or close. After play we started to film our group started by filming room 4. We fimed the class working and the art on the walls. We also started to fim our opening scene we wanted to make it walk across the field but we found it quite hard as the camera kept bouncing up and down. We also filmed the juniors playing on the playground.
Wednesday 22nd September
Today we tried to re-film the walk across the field with the tips that Mr.Young
gave us he said:
Tuck your arms tight against your sides to minamising the amount of wobbling.
Try to take smaller steps.
Look where you are walking.
We also filmed Rm 9, 8 and 3 we also started to edit our film by putting in titles and clips.
We filmed more lunchtime and class work.
Thursday 23rd September
Today we have been editing alot by adding in more clips, titles and some still pictures we have also been writing on our wiki.
Thursday 2nd December
Today we are revisiting the GATE project. We are reusing the old footage and photos. All we are doing today is putting them in a better order. The year 8 kids are away paint balling.
